Dr. Terry Ciomyk

Dr. Terry Ciomyk is a 1989 graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. He practiced in the Yonge-Eglinton area of Toronto and Brampton prior to moving to Thornhill in 1996. He enjoys practicing close to beautiful historic Thornhill and is often seen taking lunch time walks around the scenic neighbourhood.

Dr. Ciomyk is committed to professional development and excellence in all facets of dentistry. He has completed advanced post graduate training at the world-renowned Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. He is a member of the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club, and since graduation, has been a member of both the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge, and as such is a co-operative teaching participant with both the York Region District and the York Catholic District School Boards. In addition, he has provided co-operative learning opportunities to graduates of various dental assistant colleges.

According to Dr. Ciomyk, the best part of being a dentist is building relationships with the
patients, and ensuring that they get the best dental care possible. He believes informed
patients are the best ones, in that they understand the best way to maintain their dental health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ciomyk enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling, and cheering on the local sports teams.

Dr. Susie Ang

Dr. Susie Ang is a 1989 graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry and a former classmate of Dr. Terry Ciomyk. She is excited to be joining Dr. Ciomyk’s practice after having worked in another dental practice in the Highways 7 & 404 area for the past 26 years.

Dr. Ang is a lifelong learner who is committed to professional development and devoted to achieving excellence in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. She has completed a postgraduate program in Esthetic Dentistry at the State University of New York at Buffalo, an advanced education course in the diagnosis and treatment of the masticatory system with Dr. Peter Dawson and courses in orthodontics, TMJ and sleep apnea at the world renowned Pankey Institute.

Dr. Ang is a fellow of the American Society of Dental Aesthetics and the International Academy of Dentofacial Aesthetics. She is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Ontario Dental Association and the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club. Dr. Ang enjoys helping patients of all ages achieve exceptional dental health and the best possible smile. She takes a holistic approach to dental care and aims to provide treatments that are good for total wellness.

Dr. Eden Noyek

Dr. Eden Noyek grew up in Thornhill and later attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she earned her Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences with high distinction. Dr. Eden completed her studies in Dentistry at Western University in London, Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. Eden is committed to providing excellent quality of care to her patients. She enjoys treating patients of all ages, and maintains a safe, inclusive environment. In her spare time, Dr. Eden and her husband enjoy spending time with family and friends, and share a passion for travelling the world to experience different cultures and sample local cuisines.

Tamee

Tamee, who has been with Dr. Ciomyk since 1999 and serves as the Office Manager, graduated from the Toronto School of Business in 1997 as a dental assistant. Her duties include scheduling, discussing dental treatments with patients, dealing with insurance companies, answering phones, and chairside assisting. The best part of working at Thornhill Family Dentistry, according to Tamee, is ensuring everyone has a pleasant experience, and all of their questions answered. Tamee lives in Richmond Hill with her son Matthew and her fur baby Toby. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering her time with a dog rescue organization that she co-founded, and hosting social gatherings.

Raena

Raena started working as a member of the Thornhill Family Dentistry team in 2021 after having been a long-time patient of the practice. She works as an administrative assistant at the front desk and loves her role on the other end of the phone, helping out patients. Her duties include answering questions, organizing scheduling, dealing with insurance, and building relationships with patients. She recently graduated from Queen’s University in April of 2021 with a major in Sociology. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, playing with make-up, hanging out with family and friends, going to concerts and reading.

An joined the practice in 2015, having completed the Dental Assisting Program at George Brown College in 2014. An enjoys working chairside with the dentists and comforting patients during dental procedures. Her favourite part about working at Thornhill Family Dentistry is the great relationships she has built with the patients and staff. An lives in North York with her husband, her rescued dog, Frida and her new pride and joy, her son Albert. She enjoys travelling, gardening, and spending time with family in her spare time.

Dee joined Thornhill Family Dentistry in 2001, shortly after graduating from the Toronto School of Business Dental Assistant program. Her duties include chairside assisting, taking x-rays, and inventory control. Her favourite part of dentistry is watching Dr. Ciomyk change smiles. Dee lives in Scarborough with her family. She enjoys cooking, fishing, dancing and gardening.

Kenesha

Kenesha joined the practice right after graduating from the Medix College in December 2020. Her duties include working chairside with Dr. Ang and Dr. Noyek, taking X-rays and helping to keep patients comfortable during their visit. Although she is new to the profession, she has thus far found working in a dental practice to be a great experience. She worked as a trained Mathematics and Science teacher before becoming a Dental Assistant so she is always happy to work with patients, especially children. Kenesha enjoys doing makeup and listening to music.

James joined Dr. Ciomyk’s practice in 2003 as a part time dental hygienist. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto – Health Sciences and the George Brown Dental Hygiene Program. As a health care professional, he is committed to client focused care. He also has a wide knowledge base in health promotion through his work with the Region of Peel public health programs. James lives in Etobicoke with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys catching a good movie, camping and traveling with friends and family.

She enjoys being involved in all aspects of the dental experience and is committed to ensuring her patients feel at ease. Lori joined Dr. Ciomyk’s practice in 2007 as the practice expanded. In 1996, Lori graduated from the Birmingham Dental Hospital as a dental hygienist. She is very friendly and tries to make everyone’s dental visit a pleasant and relaxed experience. She is an ambitious dental hygienist who is always looking to enhance her knowledge and share it with others. Lori is a very busy mom of 2 boys, Julian and Cristian.

Mahin started working as a hygienist at Thornhill Family Dentistry in 2020 but has known Dr. Ciomyk for many years. When Dr. Ciomyk began his career as a dentist at Yonge and Eglinton, Mahin worked as an assistant at the same office. After Dr. Ciomyk moved to Thornhill, Mahin attended dental hygiene school at Cambrian College. She graduated in 2008 and has been working as a hygienist ever since. Mahin is passionate about her patients and strives to ensure that each and every one has a positive dental experience. She considers all her patients as family. In her spare time, Mahin likes to spend time with her daughter, family and friends. She enjoys dancing, listening to music, travelling, hiking, driving on country roads, experiencing nature and staying active.

Matina joined the team at Thornhill Family Dentistry in 2021. Having graduated from the dental hygiene program at Yorkville College in 2009, Matina brings with her many years of dental hygiene experience. She is passionate about providing her patients with the best oral hygiene care, and takes her time to make her patients feel comfortable, by tailoring treatment to their individual needs. In her spare time, she likes to read, and attend continuing education seminars to stay up to date with all things dental. Matina also loves spending time with her 2 children, her husband and her dog, Aston.
